The HEY Movement Typography

The HEY Movement Typography is an experimental typeface created through choreography and embodied drawing, transforming body movements into expressive letterforms. Inspired by themes of water, transformation, and cultural identity, the typeface captures the rhythm and flow of a live performance. It was featured in the poster design for the Melbourne Fringe Festival show HEY, visually echoing the performance’s emotional depth. With three distinct weights—Regular, Light, and Thin, this project bridges choreography and graphic design, offering a poetic and cross-disciplinary approach to storytelling through typography.
